Kinship is proud to partner with other youth serving organizations in the metro area to address social issues such as chronic poverty, educational achievement gaps between classes and cultures, and youth violence.

The Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ) is a collaborative of schools, organizations, and institutions seeking to allign resources and opportunities in a targeted area of North Minnneapolis in order to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of its children.

Inspired by the success of the Harlem Children’s Zone in New York City, community organizations began gathering in late 2007 to form a collaborative effort that would guarantee opportunities, support, and quality education for all children growing up in a designated zone in North Minneapolis that is most impacted by crime, violence, and poverty.
